LeanAndTenderTM  Grass fed natural Longhorn Beef

What we Do -- What we Don't do

Our pledge to you:

grass fed Longhorn, grass fed beef, natural beef, lean beef

What We Do:

  • Allow our Longhorn cattle to eat naturally on grassy pastures (grass fed and naturally raised).

  • Provide fresh water free choice.

  • Provide salt, minerals, natural feed supplements, and vitamins, "free choice" (if the cattle need them, they eat them).

  • Vaccinate calves and cattle against certain life threatening diseases.

  • Feed baled hay when grass is not available (snow covered or dormant). The hay is grown and baled on a ranch, here in the west. No preservatives are sprayed on the baled hay.

  • Have our beef cuts and sausage products prepared at small butcher shops, that are USDA approved and inspected.

  • Dry age the grass fed beef to tenderize and add flavor.

  • Use small amounts of the preservatives sodium erythorbate* and sodium nitrite* in our sausage and beef jerky products to preserve color and prevent botulism.

  • Spray Potassium Sorbate* on our "no refrigeration needed" jerky and beef stick products, to retard mold growth.
              (*definitions are listed below)

What We Don't Do:

  • We DO NOT feed, implant, or inject growth hormones.

  • We DO NOT feed or inject antibiotics.

  • We DO NOT feed any animal "by-products". (We Do Not feed any ration that contains any animal parts i.e. bone meal or other substances -- this practice is what transmits BSE or Mad Cow Disease.)

  • We DO NOT force-feed grain ("hot feed" -- as is the case with most commercial cattle in the last 90 days of their life).

  • We DO NOT send our cattle to a "feedlot" for the last 90 days of their life (or anytime).

  • We DO NOT use preservatives, flavorings, solutions, coloring, additives, chemicals, or fillers of any type, in our meat cuts or ground beef.

  • We DO NOT use MSG (monosodium glutamate) in any of our products.

Shipping Charges:

We do not add any "handling" charges to our best estimate of the actual cost of shipping our products to you.

We pay the charges for shipping directly to UPS, FedEx, or USPS and make no profit from them.
